Participation in the Eisteddfod showcases the artistic talents and creativity of our learners on a broader platform. At Wilge High School, we encourage learners to participate in this prestigious cultural event, where they can compete in various categories such as music, drama, and poetry.
The Eisteddfod serves as an opportunity for learners to demonstrate their artistic flair, express themselves confidently, and receive constructive feedback from experienced adjudicators. Our school takes pride in nurturing and supporting learners to excel in their chosen fields, and the Eisteddfod is a platform where their hard work and dedication shine.

Wind Ensemble
The Wind Ensemble at Wilge High School is a dynamic group that embraces the beauty of wind instruments and the power of musical expression. Comprising talented musicians proficient in woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments, our ensemble practices diligently to achieve precision, musicality, and a unified sound.
Under the guidance of our experienced music educators, learners in the Wind Ensemble develop their technical skills, musical interpretation, and teamwork. Choir
The Wilge High School Choir is a harmonious blend of passionate voices that celebrates the joy of music. Led by our dedicated music instructors, the choir welcomes learners of all skill levels who have a love for singing. Through regular practices and performances, our choir members not only refine their vocal abilities but also learn the art of collaboration, discipline, and stage presence.
The choir’s repertoire spans a wide range of musical genres, allowing our learners to explore and appreciate diverse styles while showcasing their talents at school events, competitions, and community gatherings.

Public Speaking
The annual Public Speaking takes place during the first term. We
are participating against Keurhof, Daeraad, and Oom Paul School. We
follow the guidelines and the topics of the ATKV Public Speaking.
Learners are coached to speak with confidence in front of an
audience. Learners are also sensitised to have an opinion on specific issues and must be able to convince people of their opinion.
The confidence that the learners gain by participating in Public
Speaking is priceless. There is a great camaraderie
among the learners who participate in Public Speaking
they feel a mutual accomplishment of being part of such a
challenging event. It is also important to realise that an activity
like Public Speaking gives the “non-athletic” learner the chance
to excel.
